Sister Chefs: The Contest

"There!" Charity had finished putting the final touches on a birthday cake for her sister, Callie. It was Callie's official 16th birthday, and everybody in the Summers household was enthusiastic for her. Mr. Summers was giving her driving lessons. Callie was even searching to buy a car! Charity wasn't too excited for when she would be able to drive, but Charity had to admit she was excited for Callie. Charity was nine, although Callie couldn't have a better friend. "Those sisters stick together like glue!" Mrs. Summers had noted, laughing. "I couldn't agree with you more..." Mr. Summers had then nodded his head, grinning out the window at the sisters. Callie had only been adopted last year, so Charity was always by Callie's side, translating for people what Callie had said in her native language, Spanish. "Hola, Chica!" Charity jumped. "The cake looks..." Callie searched hard for the English word to describe it."Magnificent!" She beamed."You said it!" Screamed Charity, making Callie jump."You've been trying to learn that word for days!" She gripped the plate the three-layer cake was resting on."Por favor?" She asked. Callie just laughed, saying, "Si, Amiga!" The two sisters gently lifted the cake, bringing it into the huge dining room of the Summers' house that was normally locked, so Callie's cats wouldn't get into the silverware."That cake sure is heavy!" Charity sighed."Want to make empanadas?" Callie asked. She had been amazing in the kitchen when the Summers first adopted her, making incredible Spanish dishes. Charity, shy at first, eventually joined her in the kitchen. Callie taught her everything she knew, and they had won the cooking contest at Charity's school. Ding-dong! "MAIL!" both sisters shrieked."Letters, letters, letters! Oh wait, and the latest Food Network Magazine. Ooh, a recipe for rose water cupcakes... with real roses on top! Callie, can we make these instead? Please?" Charity begged."We'll see... give me that magazine... I don't think we have-OH!""What?" Charity asked, worried." Look!" Callie pointed to two girls who were identical to the sisters!                                                               NEXT TIME: Just Like Me

Since I just started a new blog, I am cleaning up SSF. I am getting rid of any stories I have been writing, and I will start a new one. Please post a comment, telling ideas for stories. The best story idea will be written and posted on SSF. Thank you.
