Bring On The Cupcakes
Hey everyone! I made some cupcakes recently, so I thought I'd share. I made vanilla almond flavored cupcakes, with vanilla buttercream frosting.
This is the batter still in the making process. This is how the batter looked when it was finished. Don't they look good? Fresh out of the oven. FROSTING!!!! Almost there. Finished frosting. For the blue piping I used the Wilton Candy Decorating Pen. You have to soak it in hot water to melt the icing, but the result is worth it. Cupcakes! Thanks for reading!!!

Sister Chefs: The Contest
Callie stood there, completely frozen. She started to tremble, and then beads of sweat started rolling down her face. Charity tried to keep her cool, but she lost it too, letting loose a long, loud scream. Callie grabbed Charity, bolting like a rabbit. They stopped in front of a restaurant, only to see their doubles look straight at them!"Callie," gasped Charity, "It's those famous chefs from Food Network!" Apparently they had seen Charity and Callie, because they walked out of the restaurant and introduced themselves."Howdy," said Callie's double."I'm Fabiana Walker, and here's my lil' sister, Maddie Walker. We thought ya was the reflection in there mirror!" She laughed long and loud, and soon all four girls were laughing, and then after introductions, Fabiana and Maddie were invited to meet the rest of the Summers family, and have a cooking session with Callie and Charity! As the two girls walked home, Callie remembered something."The dress! At the cleaners!"She shouted."They close in fifteen minutes!" Charity looked at Callie's wrist watch."We can just make it!" And they bolted!

Sister Chefs: The Contest
Charity was so dumbfounded that someone could have dropped a 200-pound water balloon on her head and she wouldn't have noticed. Just then, a small, hard, and white plastic ball came shooting out from behind a china cabinet, whacking Charity on the temple."OW!" she cried. Callie raced over, dragging a small boy out from behind the cabinet."Sam!" She yelled. Sam was a small boy of six, Charity's real sibling."Sam! You know better! Why'd you throw that at Charity? You hurt her!" Callie fired at Sam."I'm sorry. I thought she would laugh." Sam apologized."Chico, do you know what really makes people laugh? This!" She started tickling him, causing a whole lot of giggles."Girls, Sam! What is going on? Where is the cake?" Everybody froze. Mrs. Summers had walked into the kitchen without anybody noticing."The cake is in the dining room, Mama."Callie answered."Good. I'll go see it. Callie, please go to the dry cleaner's and get your party dress. It just arrived there. Take Charity with you. Good-bye." Mrs. Summers walked out of the kitchen, taking Sam with her. Charity tried out her best teenager impression. With a flip of her curly, cropped red hair, she said, "We'd best be on our way." Callie imitated her adoptive sister's hair flip, only hers was with waist-length wavy brown hair."Yes." She replied. Both girls giggled, linking arms. Later as they were walking toward Sally's Dry Cleaning, a band of reporters surrounded them, shouting, "Fabiana! Maddie! Over here!" "what's it like being famous?" Callie stood there, petrified. What was going on? Who where Fabiana and Maddie?

Sister Chefs: The Contest
"There!" Charity had finished putting the final touches on a birthday cake for her sister, Callie. It was Callie's official 16th birthday, and everybody in the Summers household was enthusiastic for her. Mr. Summers was giving her driving lessons. Callie was even searching to buy a car! Charity wasn't too excited for when she would be able to drive, but Charity had to admit she was excited for Callie. Charity was nine, although Callie couldn't have a better friend. "Those sisters stick together like glue!" Mrs. Summers had noted, laughing. "I couldn't agree with you more..." Mr. Summers had then nodded his head, grinning out the window at the sisters. Callie had only been adopted last year, so Charity was always by Callie's side, translating for people what Callie had said in her native language, Spanish. "Hola, Chica!" Charity jumped. "The cake looks..." Callie searched hard for the English word to describe it."Magnificent!" She beamed."You said it!" Screamed Charity, making Callie jump."You've been trying to learn that word for days!" She gripped the plate the three-layer cake was resting on."Por favor?" She asked. Callie just laughed, saying, "Si, Amiga!" The two sisters gently lifted the cake, bringing it into the huge dining room of the Summers' house that was normally locked, so Callie's cats wouldn't get into the silverware."That cake sure is heavy!" Charity sighed."Want to make empanadas?" Callie asked. She had been amazing in the kitchen when the Summers first adopted her, making incredible Spanish dishes. Charity, shy at first, eventually joined her in the kitchen. Callie taught her everything she knew, and they had won the cooking contest at Charity's school. Ding-dong! "MAIL!" both sisters shrieked."Letters, letters, letters! Oh wait, and the latest Food Network Magazine. Ooh, a recipe for rose water cupcakes... with real roses on top! Callie, can we make these instead? Please?" Charity begged."We'll see... give me that magazine... I don't think we have-OH!""What?" Charity asked, worried." Look!" Callie pointed to two girls who were identical to the sisters! NEXT TIME: Just Like Me

This Fourth Of July, I had plenty of fun both making and decorating these special cupcakes. I tried some new things, too. One new thing I tried was Sugar Sheets! from Wilton. it was funny working with it. Enjoy!
I made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. The blue on top of the frosting was spray-on color from Wilton.
I hope you liked this post!
